Valentine’s day is celebrating the love and gratitude you have for someone, and for a few years it was just Brent and I… now that Jack and Max are in the picture, our Valentine’s celebrations are normally surrounded by them! Someday we will be old news once they are off to school, but in the meantime I’ll cherish these moments! Remember when it was a huge deal to go shopping with your Mom and pick out the coolest Valentine’s Day cards from Walmart? And you always gave the best ones of the bunch to your BFF’S! Well how adorable are these School Of Fish or Cute As A Bug cards! Minted has the cutest Valentines Day Cards ever, and you can even customize them, how amazing! If you are wondering what to get your mini for Valentine’s Day besides chocolate and candy, I have put together a little ‘Valentine’s for Mini’ gift guide. Kids are always in need of new clothes so I added a few of my favourite’s from the spring arrivals in stores, along with a few other cute gift ideas that are budget friendly. When it comes to dressing boys, the options are pretty simple, jeans, tee, kicks and a hat. Girls on the other hand, they have so many options. Options that make dressing fun and exciting and maybe a little time consuming…Maybe it’s a good thing I only have myself to be indecisive about when it comes to my wardrobe.
1. Gingham Button Shirt: Old Navy. This shirt is the cutest, it can be dressed up with a little bow-tie or dressed down with a vintage tee underneath.
2. Carpenter Jeans: Gap. I have a thing for carpenter jeans, they are the cutest fit on boys and they look cool paired with anything.
3. Color-Block High Tops: Old Navy. Every boy needs a pair of high-tops. These are great for those 2 year olds that need to do everything themselves, the velcro strap and elastic laces make it easy to slip on and off.
4. Panda Beanie Boo: Indigo. Jack has a thing for Beanie Boos, so I thought that this was only necessary to include as a Valentines gift and to his growing collection.
5. Love Monster: Indigo. In our household there is a lot of talk about Monsters… there are good ones and bad ones, it really depends what kind of mood Jack is in and if he is trying to manipulate us into something! The love monster is a great way to teach kids that monsters are not scary, they are full of love and just look a little funky!
6. MALA Easel: Ikea. For that little artist in your family. This easel is such a good price and I love how ikea keeps some of their products in natural wood, allowing you to paint and customize the item however you want!
7. Floral Print Dress: Old Navy. One of the places I love to shop for kids clothing is Old Navy, not only do they have the cutest on-trend clothing and accessories, but they ALWAYS have deals and sales everyday. And this floral print dress with flutter sleeves is the perfect little Valentines Day outfit!
8. Cheetah Leggings: Gap. Cheetah is big and its always been big. Cheetah in pastel colours on girls is super adorable and will never go out of style.
9. Heat-Cutout Flats: Old Navy. I love these! And they even come in red too, Valentine’s appropriate!
10. Cupcakes/Serving Stand: Ikea. What do little girls swoon over? Obviously cupcakes that are the perfect accessory for tea parties with dad.
Hope you all enjoy a wonderful Valentine’s with your loved ones!
