This past weekend, the boys and I decided to stick around home and do a family day trip on Saturday. After naps and lunch were over, we headed to Hamilton to check out some water falls. If you didn’t know, Hamilton is known as the ‘City of Waterfalls’ with more than 100 waterfalls and cascades. Crazy right!? Well, our plan was to check out Webster’s Falls, which isn’t the easiest place to find unless your familiar with the area (or ask 5 people along the way). By the time we got there, the place was a zoo and there was no parking available unless you wanted to park at Tews, walk on over and pay an entrance admission fee (of course). Instead, we decided to hike the Tews and visit Webster’s Falls another time.
Max got strapped onto Brent’s back in the Ergo carrier, and might I mention this has been the best carrier! From Max weighing in at 8lbs up to now at 25lbs, this carrier is very comfortable and versatile. I have even strapped Jack in on my back before. Hands down, If you want an awesome carrier, check out Ergobaby.
Jack was super excited to see water, I think that was one of his highlights… and exploring while jumping over rocks and large tree roots. He and I wanted to climb down to the bottom of the falls, but Brent wouldn’t let us… we might have had to do a bit of off trailing and I don’t know if Brent could keep up to Jack and I ;) . SO, we just stuck to the regular trails and stopped at each of the lookouts while munching on bear paws.
Jack’s favourite part, looking down at Tews Falls. We didn’t hear a peep from Max, he was snug as a bug!
Jump!
After breaking a good solid sweat, we decided leave Tews Falls and get some ice cream- the perfect cool down on a hot day, full of lots of up-hilling with a back pack and toddler on your hip. Our weekend was simple and relaxing, and exactly what we all needed :)
How was your weekend? Hope it was a good one!
