Another weekend, come and gone. Friday night Brent and I spent the night relaxing at home with the kiddos. This usually means we are stuck watching tractors on youtube until a little 2 year old goes nighty night. On Saturday we celebrated two friends tying the knot, this was our last wedding of the year, hurrah! My parents babysat Jack while Max tagged along for majority of the wedding. By 9 pm Max was partied out, so he joined his brother at Gramma and Papa’s. Brent and I had so much fun with our friends – we laughed, we danced, we sang, and we ate (a whole lot)! We really took advantage of our night without our kid’s. Sometimes it’s a little tough to have time to spend together without your kids needing all your undivided attention, I’m sure many parents can relate.
On Sunday Brent and I spent the day at my parents. Jack love’s it there and if he could, I think he would choose to live there permanently. At 6 am, my parents always receive a wake up call at the side of their bed. Jack then proceeds to grab my dad’s clothes and says “Papa, let’s feed cows n drive lawnmower.” My dad love’s Jack so much that I don’t think he could ever say no. So Brent and I usually have an extra hour to sleep in. By the time we get up and make breakfast, Jack and my dad are coming in from their morning drive. Jack is obsessed with riding the mower, it’s John Deere which makes it that much better.
The rest of the afternoon we lazed around watching movies and cuddling on the couch.
I also admired my mother’s burst of fall decor all over the house. This makes me want to bring down our totes of fall decor, but I think I will give it another week – I still haven’t had my first pumpkin spice latte of the season!
After lunch we stopped in at Brent’s parents on our way back to the city. We saw this pretty cool Hummer for sale on the side of the road while we were driving up on the Saturday. It ended up being a good deal so we got Jack his first motorized vehicle!
We ended our day with some McDonald’s of course!
