Do you ever feel like a weekend at home just hanging out, cooking, cuddles and goofing around are exactly what you’ve been needing!? That exactly what we did a few Saturdays ago. We had the pleasure of welcoming Amanda from Amanda Simpson Photography to document a lazy Saturday in our home. I have said this before and I’m going to say this again, I absolutely love documenting memories in our home! Someday us and our boys will look back on these photos and remember how their little bodies were always on top of the kitchen island; how after every meal, Jack and Max ended up on Brent and I’s lap, or how special our home may have felt to us in so many different ways.
If you have been following along with our journey, you may know that we are building a new home within the year. These may be some of our last memories documented as a family in this very first home of ours. Looking at these sweet photos of us in our home has me feeling a little melancholy- I can’t believe in a year or so we will be saying goodbye to all of our first’s that occurred here. This house went though lots of transformations which sort of gave me a hobby and made it feel more like ours at the end of the day. The boys grew into these funny little characters within these walls. They will remember the time they shared a bedroom and all the bedtime giggles and surprise visits from Rue in the middle of the night. I will remember the Paw Patrol chair at the end of Brent and I’s bed, where the boys would sit each morning and night watching their fav cartoons. Or the millions of toys that somehow ended up in our master bedroom (oh I will not miss that)! We will all remember hiding under the covers in our bed from the monsters- Max always served us “pop” in there, lol :)
These photos are not posed nor are they staged (I mean I did clean the house prior!), but they share a story, a wee little story of us together, doing our thing in our home.
Because Amanda took so many photos that day and I want to share them all, I split them into two posts! I will post Part 2 soon :)
Thanks Amanda for capturing these memories of us <3

I love this! The lighting in our home is horrible so it would be difficult to get good pictures without a lot of editing on the photographers part, but one day I’d love to do this with my family.
