Last Friday, the boys and I decided to take advantage of the beautiful warm weather (probably the last) and visit Victoria Park, located downtown Kitchener. Victoria park is absolutely stunning with gigantic trees, beautiful landscaping surrounded by water and walking trails. Three years ago, Brent and I had our wedding photos taken here in fall and the colours were immaculate! It’s a great place for all sorts of fun, kids especially because of the huge playground and splash pad — every kids dream. And of course, feeding the ducks, I think most kids like that right?
So I packed up the stroller, some snacks, forgot their swim trucks, and here we are…
When we arrived, we walked across this bridge and Jack spotted a few ducks so the boys instantly grabbed the bread and threw pieces into the water… When one comes, they all come! Even as we were walking off the bridge, the ducks actually followed us out of the water. To my mistake I told Jack to watch out, because they might try to bite his toes off, and well Jack didn’t take that lightly (lol). We walked a few of the trails along the water searching for more ducks and I quickly learned that Max needed to be strapped into the stroller most of the time. Anytime we were close to the water side, Max without hesitant would have jumped in and swim with those ducks! I wasn’t kidding when I said ‘one comes, they all come’. Before we knew it we were surrounded by ducks, and that’s when I realized that Max was ALSO feeding them his xplosive pizza goldfish, and fyi: they love it!! Jack got a little nervous when they came right up to his feet, Max on the other hand was basically trying to lure them in for grizzly bear snuggles.
After our fun and excitement with the ducks and the fact that the boys fed the ducks all of their snacks, it was time to hit up the splash pad and playground.
Our adventure at Victoria Park to be continued…
What was the highlight of your weekend? Hope it was a good one!

How cute!! I love feeding the ducks in our town. I recently found out bread is bad for their little tummies though and can lead to some pretty severe health issues. Seeds are much better for them :)
