The leaves are beginning to fall, we are a house full of sicklings, and I’m literally on my third cup of coffee because a little three year old decided to wake up at 3 am — we have officially hit the Fall mark! It’s October 1st already, and I swear when your trying to keep two kids afloat plus yourself, the months just fly! Jack literally just said “when’s it going to be Halloweeeeeeen!!??” to soon, to soon… But since we are heading into the cooler months, I’v rounded up a few Comfy Fall Favourites and well, because these days my wardrobe is basically full of comfy clothing (I’m sitting in my pj’s as I type this). I recently did a fall closet clean out, and I have come to the conclusion that pink and bright colours are just not my jam! My closet is officially full of neutrals, minimalist and versatile items. I’v decided to try and live with fewer items, kind of like the capsule wardrobe… except I have 4 black sweaters that I just can’t part with (embarrassing). If you want to read more in depth about the capsule wardrobe, this post by Unfancy is amazing! It really puts the term ‘less is more’ into perspective!
You may think that over time you would accumulate clothing and items in your closet. Well these days, I realize how many less items I have in my closet and how many pieces I own that I really do love wearing. The biggest clue I’v noticed about the clothing I own is how I feel wearing it — Is it comfortable, do I feel great, and most of all, does it feel like me? It may have taken me 15 years to figure out my style or what I actually like, and not because its on trend, but I’m totally simple and tomyboy-ish, it’s what I feel the best in! It could be because I have two little dudes to dress, so I’m the girl version of them!? I’m cool with that :). I however, love wearing a bangin’ dress and heels but I try not to over do it. Every girl loves to get a little dressed up now and then ;)
So back to my fall favourites, listed above. I’m in love with that baseball dress, its the perfect dress to wear out with cute booties or worn super casual with runners to the pumpkin patch. And we all know that plaid is a fall staple — We literally can’t get enough of it! To top it all off, what about a cute beanie? I’m loving these slouchy ribbed hats at Joe Fresh for only $9 (YES, please!) and I just purchased these black ankle booties, they also have a similar version in brown.
What about you, what are some of your fall staples!? Do you think you could try out the capsule wardrobe? I’d love to hear your answers in the comment section below!

These are great picks for fall! I try to keep my capsule layerable, so most pieces are good for multiple seasons, but these are PERFECT switch-ins to transition to fall.

Yes, I’v really noticed all my clothing is super basic with a cute things here and there. But I am always grabbing the same shirt and jeans… So throwing in a cute baseball dress is perfect for layering :)

Oh my goodness, that little plaid shirt form Old Navy is ADORABLE! And that sweater dress is beautiful, although I do feel like that is the kind of thing I could never pull off. :)
