I can’t believe Halloween is just around the corner and I remember the days I dressed up… My family lives on a farm in the country, down a long country road, so when my brother and I were young, our mom would drive us to each of our neighbours houses to go trick or treating. We didn’t mind though because in the country you always received a huge treat bag filled with FULL SIZE chocolate bars and homemade candy apples;). As we got older, our mom dropped us off at our friends houses in town where we paraded around collecting candy in pillow cases- the good ol’ days, haha!
What I love most now about the holidays is reliving my childhood through the boys, except this time it’s obviously from a different perspective. It’s still so thrilling to watch the boys dress up and to see their expressions when a scary kid clown passes us on the sidewalk, Max is climbing my leg at this point; Or when the kids get a handful of candy and their eyes light up because, HEY it’s candy! It will be interesting to see how the boys do trick or treating this year! Jack want’s to be a knight and well when Max doesn’t want to be whatever his big bro is, he says he wants to be a cowboy… we’ll see!
I’m also a little sad that the trees are almost bare and the weather seems to be getting cooler. I got the winter tote out of storage and I cried a little inside! I’m a bear in hibernation when winter rolls around, but on the other hand, Christmas is on its way! Does anyone have Christmas on their minds? Too soon??? Well stay tuned for my Holiday collab with Leon’s ;)
We are loving all the pretty leave this time of year, so much we even made a collection!
We added a few Halloween decorations here and there.
The kids are obsessed with this skeleton spider…
We had the pleasure of having our friend Mel from Blue Velvet Photography, come over and capture us in our home! She’s the sweetest and the boys loved joking around with her :)
Jack can’t get enough of leave piles. We baked and decorated cookies and I’m still drooling over these cookies.. I’ve been thinking of making another fun Halloween treat for the boys, any recommendations!?
Thanks for stopping by and have a spooky Halloween…
