I love coming across new thrift and antique stores and revisiting old ones because there’s nothing like finding a gem that is completely original! But what I have noticed throughout my generation is that a lot of shopping is done more and more though the internet; it’s the new way, even when it comes to shopping for furniture. So can you imagine shopping for authentic antique and vintage furniture online!? Well, let me introduce you to The HighBoy.
The HighBoy is an online antique and vintage furniture store which originated from a generation of family run antique business owners. With the vision of bringing the antique world online, The HighBoy was created giving the new generation a whole new appreciation for antiques collected from across the world. The HighBoy sells collections of antiques and vintage products ranging from mid-century, Victorian to farmhouse. As a buyer, browsing these collections is made simple by having the choice of selecting by style, origin, century and category. You can easily narrow your search down to an exceptional selection of modern, vintage and antique desks, armchairs, side tables, plus even more which are from around the world spanning from the 17th Century through the 20th Century- how cool is that!?
Here are some of my favourite finds found under each of these categories!
Vintage Thomasville Faux Bamboo Desk
Pair of Saarinen Executive Armchairs, c. 1950
19th Century French Louis Philippe Walnut Table
With this easy to navigate website, I was very pleased to create a mid-century eclectic inspired “dining room” mood board that I’m excited to share with you!
What I absolutely love about The HighBoy is the enormous amount of selection they have. I had the toughest time deciding on a farm table because I loved them all! With a variety of items, I was able to create an inspiring kitchen dining area filled with vintage prints like this map and “American Mutt” wall art. To tie in red as the accent colour, I found this authentic Vintage Campbell Soup Warhol Dinner Plate Set and these classic Red Wire Based Side Chairs. The Mid- 18th Century Green Buffet makes such a bold statement which really liven up the whole look and gives the space tons of charm. Going with a wooden farm table warms up this eclectic look and there really is nothing better than an French Country Farm Table with a huge history to bring lasting character into your home.
This whole eclectic look is a gathering of items that are all very easy to maintain, especially with a house full of boys. These are also pieces that can be handed down from generation to generation, therefore investing in this furniture is worth it! I also love that each piece is an antique but yet they are all in various styles making it easy to build a space or add a new piece to your home. So not only are you building a space that represents you, but it’s a space that refines a history in various eras by simply selecting something from The HighBoy!

I love this concept! My grandmother actually owned an antique store for quite a while so I’ve grown up having an appreciation for vintage and antique things, but I also love to shop online (in my p.j.s! haha).
