Hello Hello!
It’s been ages since I’ve shared anything on this ol’ blog, but I’m happy to finally be back and share some updates to our home featuring one of our favourite Canadian furniture companies, Structube! There has been so much that has happened since the last time I posted on here, but we will save all of that fun family stuff for another time.
Most recently we’ve been giving our living room/ entry some attention in #TheGreyHouseBuild. Before, we used to have our large grey cabinet between these two front doors — a lot of people said to keep the cabinet here, but me being me, I knew I wanted to update the space with some new furniture and give this area some welcoming charm for future guests that walk into our home!
Here is the before:
We have come a long way from plywood floors and drywall dust!
Looking at the before photo makes me love the way our couches were set up in the living room… maybe a sectional would give this same illusion down the road? I’m starting to miss my red rug, BUT, I’m going to hold off until Fall/Christmas and tie red back into our home.
Our Entry After
We installed an entry sconce, hallelujah! Another thing I noticed that we were missing by the mudroom/ front entrance was a mirror… you know when you want to check your hair or put on a dab of lipstick before you walk out the door? Yes, we needed this Circa I mirror and I’m so happy with how the reflection shares a glimpse of charm from our staircase! Next up, the decision to add a comfy chair — I love having this little finished nook because it softens up this space, it doesn’t seem formal but a welcoming area. I love that guests can set keys on the nesting tables and the Polo chair is the catch ALL for coats, hats, books, backpacks, and the list goes on! This black chair is so comfy, I think our cat seems to think it’s hers these days, hmmmm… I added an accent pillow to tie in the colours from our home and you know, because one can never have enough pillows! The rug was a last-minute add in. Eventually I would love to get something neutral to finish off the area, but I do like that the cowhide grounds this little area. We have a bit of a hallway from the entry to our kitchen therefore filling this area in with some comfy Structube furniture has been the best decision!
What do you think of our new and improved entry space!?
Can you spot our girl, Rue?
Thanks Structube for sponsoring this post :)
