We are finally living in the new house and it feels so good to finally be in! It’s crazy to think that a year ago we were looking at flooring plans and deciding our kitchen layout and functionality. It’s been a real dream!
One of the first decisions we made when it came to adding in the essentials to our kitchen was the sink. Blanco has always been a company that I’ve known to have amazing quality products, therefore when the time came to find a sink and faucet for our kitchen, Blanco was my first choice. I have always loved a good ol’ farm house sink — it’s classic and seems to always compliment majority of kitchen designs. Blanco at the time, had a new sink launch called the IKON which is known as their “contemporary classic” apron front sink. *Bonus, they have it in two lengths, the IKON 30 and 33. Since we have a row of windows in front of the sink, the IKON 33 fit perfectly in line with the middle window. Also who’s with me when bigger is better!? Who wouldn’t want a bigger sink to bury all those dishes in ;)
What We Love About Our BLANCO IKON Silgranit Sink
- The Silgranit sink comes in 7 colours, allowing you to choose the perfect shade for your kitchen.
- The Silgranit sink is made from exceptionally durable natural quartz granite and is heat-resistant up to 280° C (536° F) — say goodbye to the worry of heat marks and chipping the edges.
- Silgranit is resistant to scratches, stains and all household acids and alkali solutions. My kids are hard on everything, and this sink holds up to them and their roughness.
- And there is a limited lifetime warranty plus it’s made in Canada!
Pairing Our IKON With The Perfect Faucet
Picking a faucet was a bit of a challenge since I didn’t know exactly what I wanted, nor did I have the luxury of owning a pretty cool kitchen faucet to begin with. When searching the Blanco website, I stumbled across the Catris faucet, a hardy faucet that looks like it should belong in a chefs house! It features a 360° swivel with extended range which allows me to pull the faucet in extended directions. It also gives you two dual spray options, which I love for cleaning tough areas on dishes as well as extra spray power to clean out our sink.
Floating Sink Grid
Blanco also offers a unique custom-fit floating grid which floats along the walls of the sink. This stainless steel grid is fitted with protective bumpers, and can either be used as an additional workstation for prepping and cleaning while saving space, or as a trivet on the counter top. Because we have a single sink, I love that this grid can hold up some of my clean dishes without taking up counter space!
We love our sink and faucet combo — I defintely don’t think our kitchen would look as sharp without them!
Do you have a favourite from Blanco? I would love to see someone use the IKON in black!
